Passing the CPA Exam - These Tips Will Help

Passing the CPA exam may be a frustrating task, particularly if you have heard of the multitudes of people that have had to sit through more than one section several times before ultimately passing the CPA. You will pass the CPA exam, finally ¨C it is inevitable unless you give up.

It's not easy to pass the CPA. Passing the CPA exam is a huge undertaking that can call for a lot of tenacity and time before you will succeed. Many people fail more than one sections many times before ultimately passing all four sections of the CPA exam. On the other hand, you'd want to remind yourself of past accomplishments that serve as concrete proof of your mental capabilities, for example having a college degree. 2)Request Assistance From Friends & Family
If they're supportive of what you're trying to achieve, they may help you out with some of your present obligations (for example household chores such as cleaning & cooking), and will understand if you can't attend every social gathering.

3)Stay in Great Health
Eat a well-balanced diet, exercise regularly, and above all, sleep for a minimal of six to eight hours each night, taking an afternoon nap if you must. As Well, don't neglect to schedule regular study breaks - they will help you to stay refreshed and focused, and will also help you to learn better when you return from the study break. Studying for the CPA can be quite exhausting. 4)Purchase a Solid CPA Review Program
The top CPA exam review programs on the market come with lectures on DVDs that teach the material a lot better than printed words ever could. 5)Find a Study Buddy - Or Two
CPAnet.com has a forum where you can post or answer to a request for study partners. Set up a strict study schedule and ask everyone to commit to it by scheduling other obligations around it. Studying with other people can help you to stay focused, and two heads are often better than one when it comes to working out difficult problems or concepts. When you're feeling frustrated, your study buddies may just give you the emotional support you need to continue - after all, they're in the same position as you and will understand how you feel.

There's simply too much material to cover all at once. A more manageable strategy would be to focus only on studying for one section at a time, pass the exam for that section, take a break, and then start studying for the next section etc. Another piece of advice would be to try for the most difficult section first (the one that is most difficult for you - this will vary from person to person), because as soon as you pass your first section, you only have 18 months to pass your remaining 3 sections.

7)Target Problem Areas
Although reviewing materials you know very well give you that good feeling, it probably won't help to increase your exam scores finally. To get the highest ROI (rate of return) for your effrot and time, spend it on materials you have the most trouble with. Browse through all of your learning materials, identify your problem areas, and focus on them
concentrate on them until you have conquered them.

8)Taking Notes is Important
It is crucial to take lots of notes when you're studying, so that you'll have something to review during the last several days before the actual exam. Since your short-term memory is, well, short-term, materials you study during those last several days will be remembered best on your exam day. This small window is simply not enough for you to go over all study materials from start to end, so be sure you have a complete set of study notes that you can memorize during the last few precious days before your exam.

9)Time Yourself
When doing practice problems, time yourself as if you're actually doing the exam. This will train yourself to perform under time constraints and better prepare you for the actual exam. Try to do as many practice problems for as many times as you can. By doing so, you will understand the material better, and also feel more positive about passing the exam - both of which will result in increasing your actual exam score!
